Oh my, I’ve gotten behind in blogging! My little Ada, Michigan baby photography studio has been busy with newborns and tons of baby milestone clients. Most recently, little Kellen came in to meet me. He is almost seven months, and he showed off his strong sitting skills. He has such good balance already! This baby boy is full of cuteness, long eyelashes, a sweet smile, and that iconically soft baby skin. During the shoot, his mom and dad helped entertain him, and I got to see firsthand how in love with mommy’s singing Kellen is. I don’t blame him- she is a much better singer than me! Here’s a little peek into the shoot:
This newborn baby photographer has noticed another huge baby boom this month! One of those special deliveries is sweet 9-day-old Eila, who came in for a newborn photography session with her parents last week. Eila has beautiful creamy skin and slept peacefully for her entire shoot. We got great shots of her with her mommy and daddy, and she cozied up into several poses on her own, as well.
Eila’s mommy requested a neutral set up, and it complimented her skin tones very well. I added in some soft pinks and a bit of textures to enhance the photos, but the focus is all on baby Eila. Her lips and little toes were some things I fell in love with about her. Each baby that comes in is unique, and I love to soak in their individual traits.
I am also lucky that Eila is one of my Belly to Birthday babies, which means I get to watch her as she grows over the first year of her life. She comes back again for her six month shoot later this Summer. Friends and family can view the rest of her newborn photos in her full gallery by clicking here. I can’t believe these boys are already almost four months old! At their photo shoot today, they stunned me with how much they’ve grown. I had the privilege of photographing their birth, and I last saw them when they came into the studio for their newborn photography shoot in December. What adorable chubby arms and legs, big smiles they have now! They filled my studio with sweet chatter and coos, and we had tons of fun with their mommy and daddy during the session. Their mom is owner of TC Simply Chic, an Etsy crochet shop and makes lots of my baby photography props, so we planned together for some playful setups for this shoot. One that she really wanted to do was a Dr. Suess Thing 1 and Thing 2 themed setup. We kept it simple, but fun, and it turned out great.
Another set up we tried was an idea I had been wanting to do, using a new mushroom prop I recently purchased. I asked Momma to make me some red gnome hats for her boys. These boys aren’t at the sitting up milestone yet, so we faked it with several images that I put together during editing.
The boys look totally adorable, and I would love to do this set up again with a 6-7 month old sitter in the future. More photos from the session are in the full gallery. When one of your best friends has a baby, it comes in handy being a newborn photographer in Grand Rapids MI. Little Hazel was warmly welcomed to the world about six weeks after my daughter was born, and her photo shoot was my first postpartum session, aside from my own baby’s. Hazel surprised everyone with an early entrance about a month ahead of schedule, and it was a joy capturing her teeny, tiny features. Baby Hazel looks so happy and comfy, and she easily fell into poses. Check out the amazing hair on this little lady!
I love working with neutrals and soft colors in my newborn set ups, but I also have fun mixing in some color, too. Momma is a huge fan of the color pink and all things girly, so I made sure to include this in the session. I have lots of girly accessories, and Hazel slept so soundly that we got to use several on her. One of her mommy’s favorites was my bright pink headband with a sparkling bow.
Congratulations to the Y family on their second little girl! Friends and family can ask Jamie for the password and view all of the photos from this shoot in Hazel’s gallery by clicking here before the gallery expires.
Oh, handsome Drew, you make Grand Rapids baby photography look so good! This little man had the biggest smile and such amazing, blue eyes! He came in with his mom and dad, and they were all so much fun. We got several milestone shots of Drew at the six-month stage, where he showed off his fabulous sitting skills and was happy as could be on his tummy. Then, we got a few Christmas photos, too. I love little Drew in my big, soft santa hat! Mom came with several cute accessories of her own for him to model, too. The gray hat is one of my favorites! Merry first Christmas to you, Drew! Check out a few of the photos from his session:
